A Tawny eagle looking for prey

The tawny eagle is a large bird of prey and is sometimes as "inelegant, scruffy-looking". Tawny eagles occur extensively in the Kruger National Park. They are very versatile raptors, eating anything: they hunt small to medium-sized mammals, birds and reptiles. This image was captured mid-morning on a cloudy day resulting in a featureless, uniform, brightly lit background.
