An European Bee-eater on the lookout for insects
Description
The European Bee-eater is the most colourfull of the bee-eaters with brown and yellow upper parts and green wings. They catch insects in flight, in sorties from an open perch. The European Bee-eater breeds in southern and central Europe and northern Africa; but migrates to southern Africa during the winter in the northern hemisphere. In the beginning of summer, after the first rain these colorful birds appear in the Kruger National Park. This image was captured in the late afternoon resulting in a dark green background.
