A leopard closely watching his kill in a tree
Description
Leopards eat small prey immediately, but drag larger carcasses to a suitable or to the closest tree where it can store it out of the reach of rivals such as hyenas and lions. Furthermore birds of prey may scavenge on the carcass. This image was captured when a male leopard was closely watching a raptor that had landed in the same tree as where the leopard had stored its kill.
